Available in sizes: 17cm, 23cm

The Berkley Sick range is a family of 6 types of softbaits, designed to cover every situation you will face on the water. The Sick Vamper is a V-Tail bait with a fat body. The skinny tail makes a beautiful waving action when fished on a dropshot rig or jighead. The triangular shape of the body will create a belly flashing action when the bait is fished aggressively. Fish it trough thick cover with an offset hook or use it as soft jerk bait.

Available in sizes: 9cm, 14cm, 18cm, 22cm

Probably the most all-round applicable softbait in the range! Due to its shape, the available sizes and color schemes the Flanker can not miss in your tacklebox. The smaller sizes are perfect for perch and zander fishing, but even big trout have fallen for these. The larger sizes perform amazing when fishing for zander and pike. The beautiful flanking action, which gives the Flanker its name, combined with the attractive wiggling of the tail make this bait absolute irresistible to your target predator.

Available in sizes: 6cm, 8cm, 10cm, 14cm, 20cm

Bulky and with a big paddetail, the Swimmer really makes some noise under water! The big silhouette makes the Swimmer perfect for catch-and-retrieve fishing as a searchbait. It helps you cover a lot of water and find active fish. The Swimmer is also great for jigging or dragging, imitating a small goby or wounded baitfish. The big tail helps slow the fall right down and increase the moment of suspension, staying in the strike zone longer whilst you are still able to fish it with a medium heavy jighead. An absolute killer for big perch and zander.

Available in sizes: 9 cm, 12cm

This slender allrounder has some big fish to its name! We love to fish the Vibe on flowing water, where the shape allows you to use a lighter jighead. The small tail gives the high frequency vibrations that sluggish winter fish just cannot resist. The vibe is a bait which shouldn’t be missing in the tacklebox of avid dorpshot anglers, the thin tail base guarantees movement of the tail on the slightest movement on the rod tip! The largest size also performs great when fished pelagic for those big pike and zander.

Available in sizes: 9 cm, 12cm, 15cm

Clear water

In general, when the water is clear we advise to use natural colours like the Perch, Transparent Roach or Bloody burbot. The pikes have great eyes so they will commit when they see something natural swimming by.

Cloudy weather

With lower light conditions it’s smart to use a non-transparent and high-contrast coloured lure. A great choice is the Bream color, with an orange belly, bright flank and black back.

Sunny weather

With sunny weather it’s smart to go for a transparent coloured lure and use something with glitters which reflect the sunlight. The Transparent Perch, Silver Roach or Yellowfin colours are best.

Murky water

In stained water it is wise to try some brighter coloured lures. Patterns like Hot Fire Tiger or Brown Chartreuse are a great choice. These colors stand out better in cloudy water and the pike will track them down easily.

Fishing for perch, zander, and pike with softbaits and shads is an exciting form of predator fishing that has gained popularity over the years. This method of lure fishing for pike and other predatory fish is highly effective and involves softbaits or shads, designed to mimic the movement and appearance of (small) prey fish.

Perch Fishing with Softbaits and Shads

Perch are one of the most commonly caught fish in freshwater, and they are a great target for softbait and shad fishing. Perch tend to feed on smaller fish and other prey, so using a softbait or shads that mimics their natural prey is the key to successful fishing!

When it comes to softbaits for perch, Berkley Sick has a variety of options and sizes to choose from. The most popular ones are is the Berkley Sick Swimmer, Flanker and Vibe. These shads are designed to mimic the movement and scent of live bait and with the smile of powerbait, they are even more attractive. These lures can be rigged with a jig head or a drop shot rig and fished near the bottom or around structures such as weed beds and rocks.

Zander Fishing with Softbaits and Shads

Also zander can be caught using softbaits and shads. Zander tends to feed on medium-sized fish such as roach, perch, and small pike, so using a softbait in medium sizes can be very interesting.

One popular softbait for pelagic fishing for zander is the Berkley Sick Vamper. This lure can be rigged with a jig head or fished on a drop shot rig and fished around structures such as weed beds and rocks.

Another great option for zander is our Berkley Sick Vibe. These lures can be fished with a slow and steady retrieve or with short, jerky movements, mimicking the movement of small baitfish.

Pike Fishing with Softbaits and Shads

Pike are the most famous predator fish among anglers, and softbait and shad fishing is an effective way to catch them. Pike tend to feed on bigger fish, such as perch, roach, bream or even other pike. Because the Sick Vamper is so successful among predator anglers, we introduced a bigger brother that is perfect for pike fishing... the Berkley Sick Smash!

Our product developers created a big softbait up to 22cm to chase the bigger pikes. Because of the rolling action and flappy tail, the Sick Smash pushes a lot of water in different directions. Something pike can not resist!
